Leftover bolt from clutch replacement

Hello, I’m in the process of getting everything buttoned up after putting a new clutch in my ‘91 4runner 3vze and i have a small bolt that for the life of me i cant remember where it goes. This was my first time pulling the transmission and replacing the clutch, so it may be something i pulled to get to something else. I cant see any open bolt holes and all exhaust shields/dust covers etc. are in place. Anyone know where this goes?

Looks like a "standard" m10-1.25*15, pretty much could go almost anywhere.

You've just learned a very valuable lesson about disassembling things. Pictures, sorting, and labels are very important if you don't want an "extras" bin.

. .
No other extra parts, like say a loom bracket (hoseclamp).. You will pretty much have to walk yourself through the dis assembly steps and hope you remember ("oh yeah I smacked my knuckle getting this one"). In typical fashion it's going to be something you can either see or touch but not see while touching.

A very important lesson indeed. i was afraid of the “it could go anywhere”, but understandable. My best guess is a wire loom tucked up on top the transmission somewhere i can’t see. I should mention its a 14mm head. As long as its not supposed to be holding something critical.

Looks like one of the two that hold that plate (backing plate) in between the engine and tranny?

@ev13wt the link you posted is for the 22re, this is a 3vze. The only bolt i remember on the backing plate was a 10mm.

Thought it was 4 bolts that held the plate on between lower engine and trans? They are 14mm heads either way, other trans/engine bolts are 19mm I think. I was gonna guess it one of the bolts holding something onto your head, like the engine hoist bracket, or an accessory bracket. Good news is that it's dirty grease on the threads so it's somewhere that's easyish to get at. If it was clean with red loctite remnants you might have a problem on your hands.
