gonna do the test to see if fuel is getting to rails.
could it be the cressida vafm not sending a signal?

yes. test the fuel pump using 4 crawlers method, but also test the afm using the link below.

fuel filter fittings fun!!! Forkn fittns! had to cut out line, and filter to remove/replace. nasty runny dirty oil lookinf fuel drips from filter IN. dripped maybe 1/2 to 3/4 cup of fuel.
6AN to 14mm then a barbed fitting to 3/8 high pressure hose. but that hose loosely fits on fuel line. still no start, vafm checks out per resistances at terminals from fsm link.
swapping back oem vafm to rule out.

UPDATE:
was the vafm. swapped stock back in and started right up. curious as the donor vafm from the 90cressida initially passed resistances. have a 'new' donor vafm and going to tune when time provides. when dialed in this and the other mentioned mods in the air/exhaust system make a wonderful difference while retaining the ability to revert back stock or at least very near to.
props to you guys for embarking this experiment.

results

Has anyone done a before and after dynamometer run with this mod? Not seat of the pants " I feel it's better" actual scientifically measured results. THe math I have read says it shouldn't make a measureable difference because a stock engine just can't move enough air.

The correct term you are looking for is dyno. And it does not give you actual scientific evidence other than peak HP/TQ numbers at WOT. It does not show real world comparisons like driving down the high way at part throttle or normal driving conditions. The VAFM is clearly one of the most restrictive parts of the intake system along with 90 degree that tapers down to under 2.5 inches in places. The throttle body is a resonable 2.75 so after the ISR mod this seems to be a good investement.

I don't think your going to see many people rushing out to dyno 120whp trucks that are worth maybe $2000-$4000 any time soon. The only way I see any one investing that kind of time and money into a 3VZE is if they are trying to dial in there timing and AFR and 99% of us do that by street tuning.

Had another go at this mod

Reserecting this thread. Had another go at this mod. More success this time. Still need to to dial in fuelling but waiting for new dizzy cap, rotor arm and ignition leads. Engine is missing slightly which it did with old vafm. First feeling is lots more torque can feel feel body rock if I rev engine. Throttle feels lighter and more responsive. Will give more feed back after new parts fitted.
