hey guys can anyone think of any reasons why if i used (to the best of my knowledge) the very same lights as sr5 (the blue lights) why mine aren't nearly as bright as his?? any help to shed some LIGHT on the situation would be very helpful!

hmmm.. i dunno, i guess that depends upon a lot of things. you are sure you have the same LEDs? as in same manufacturer and all? secondly, LEDs are funny things, they have different "bins" which are quality levels, and, depending on manufacturer, they might not really care and just throw whatever bin on whatever product.

Otherwise, did you check the voltage at point where you are point the LEDs in? its also possible, because of the lower resistance there might be a drop in voltage/current, so not as much power is being sent to them. but, again, would have to test for that.

otherwise, i just saw this reply pop in my inbox, and its muggin late.. if i think of something else i'll get back.

very sure they're the same, i went with the blue leds from super bright and got the cone ones just like he did. ok, still learning about this electricity stuff, if theres less power being pumped to these bad boys then i'd want to . . . something with a resistor? or wait, (trying to think back to to circuit boards in physics in high school) add a lower resistor?

And thanks for replying so soon! very appreciated!

I assume you mean the 1985 model 4runner. I don't know. Perhaps my non-answer will give this thread the needed bump so you can find out.

way late.. but a free bump. I'm pretty sure they will fit. Now I just need a number! I have the analog turbo cluster... (For an '87) And I'm thinking I have 4? for the dash, and maybe 2 for the climate control? how about the altimeter? 2 as well? Hopefully someone here has some definite answers :p

Going to replacing everything with White x5 LEDS from superbrightleds, will post pics, just hoping to get a definitive number without tearing apart my dash and putting it back together while i wait for the bulbs to come in.

Sorry to bump such a old thread but I replaced all my bulbs to red leds except for the cigarette lighter which I wanted to be blue. It turned out pretty good even replaced my glove box light while I was at it too. Sorry for the low quality pic but my phone doesnt like taking night pics.

I had questions, and couldn't find the answers so hopefully I can help others.

for my set up specifically, I used superbrightleds.com

for the 194s (1 in each pod on the A pillar, 3 behind my main cluster, and 2 behind the inclinometer) I used WLED-x5

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...ini-wedge.html

for the climate control

I used 74-xHP3 on the same page. It was barely too wide, so i took a file to it and it fit right in.

and for the dome light and cargo light I used

3022-xHP4

no they are not. they dim slightly but not enough for me to call it anything. If you do see LEDs dim, they are just blinking really fast. the ones i put in my moms F150 dimmed. but none of the dash really dims. talking in circles now.. lol.. hope I helped.

I just bought leds to do all the cabin lights from superbrightleds. I picked up full sets of red, blue, and white for 28 USD, I'll mix and match and get you guys some high quality shots.

Nice job Blake! The white looks nice. I like how it has a small blue tint to it.

I wish there was a way to change the color on the clocks. The green doesnt go well with my red dash lights
