This thread is for IFS only. If you don't like IFS, move along. No reason to bash or attack other members. Do not post in this thread if you do not have something to contribute, or you will be given a vacation.
This is the only warning I am giving for this thread.
*edit* I had to go back and delete 37 nonsense posts that had nothing to do with anything. If you want to have a SAS vs. SFA debate, start your own thread and debate to your hearts desire. Don't do it in here.

Hey DC, Killing It I see! Hahaha
I'm not going to post any pictures of the Old Man Emu CS009R leaf pack swap, yet, but I am mentioning it as I am very anxious to see what help or limitation it might have in the ability to keep the rear wheels on the ground when trying to flex the front beyond the stock intentions. So far, with the zuk mod, I've had pretty decent results for an IFS rig... And I know that those springs had to be broken in for a little while in order to soften up a teeny bit... So I'm sure the new leaf packs will be the same way... At least to some degree. Anyway, I have plenty of pictures off what I've been able to get away with so far, so I will compare them later. Yes this is about independent front suspension, and as most of us know, limitations in the rear can cause plenty of limitation on the front . That is, unless you don't care about rolling over! Haha

Hey bud!
Well, I gave more info on my build..
But the long and short of it;
I need to do more testing with pushing it to its limits in the rear alone, front alone, then alternating articulation, like below...

I also need to check the links of those Ranchos at whatever max droop and stuff I can manage back there, and then I will know with a little more detail what I should do. It seems to me that with the extra ability 2 stuff and droop in the rear it will allow the front to stuff further without getting the rear tires off the ground. a stock leaf can only droop so much before it hits its limit due to the shackle . Adding that little extra arch can make quite a bit of difference if it setup right, but I'm not sure just yet what I'm looking at, because again, without longer shackles I am limited, plain and simple . Unfortunately, if I go too much higher I'm going to lose the ability to leave my roof rack on what I want as I will ripbthe garage door off, otherwise, hahaha .
The low pro Energy Suspension bump stops have definitely allowed me to go quite a bit beyond horizontal. But, a- arm suspension can only go so far as well. I'm pretty sure the Mega travel upper ball joints are helping as well.
I still haven't decided which route I'm going to take with my rig, as far as getting it as close to where I want it as possible. But, for now, it's been treating me fairly well. Anything I do from here as far as front suspension is a huge choice, so I'm not taking such a choice lightly, nor will I make it quickly, haha.( unless, of course, something just falls in my lap that is too good to pass up)
I think this thread is an important 1. Even the decisions I've made how to modify my IFS, it was often quite a bit of work, not exactly cheap, yet not exactly super pricey... while others either simply shave of the bump stops, put on bracket lift kits, long travel,.... And the list goes on. However, there's only so much you can do with these, so why not look through a thread that offers multiple paths that people have taken, shows what they've gotten out of it, as a means to help others make a choice? Do I want to bother with even 1 penny investment into an independent suspension ? Or do I go right to the eliminator kit?

Haha. ... which thread, DC? weird things have been happening on this site to me today. That's about the third post that just disappeared
I just had to retype that 1 again. Yeah, sorry about that being a long 1. O.o .... Just sharing, why not, right? I'm sure most people just read the next post, skipping over mine, and that's perfectly fine, I totally understand. Hahahahaha... Tell me where that thread is so I can delete it unless you did already?

hey guys, i have a question about front flex on the IFS. does removing the swaybar offer much more flex up front? and is it worth the trade off on road? does it roll real bad or is it something manageable?
#1375
I have no noticeable roll, but have all new ca bushinhs, bj's, shocks, stabilizer, etc. Most have little to no probs, borg.

It won't flex more, but it will get to "max flex" easier. It will generally ride a lot softer too on the road to boot. I have both of mine removed for a couple years throughout several rigs. However, I might go so far as putting them back on if the mood strikes and get sway bar disconnects instead. If you drive it on the streets a lot I wouldn't.

I got everyone beat with this Toyota flex shot I took at work today.
My supervisor got a lil carried away with our forklift at work and flexxed it out to till the terrible open diff monster left him stranded till i came and saved the day.
