Mark, didn't you say you were impressed with how much more flex you got with the new bumpstops up front?

I have a stock height 4runner and cut the upper and lower bump stops off. I will say I've blown out two cheap shocks in the front from compression. I will be putting the lowers back and running virtually zero height uppers. But maybe my situation is just unique?

Just redid all OEM cv repack and reboot..... pushed it hard for the second trip now... no issues. The a-arms travel plenty past level with the horizon, by using the Low Pro uptravel stops, and also, by having bj spacers/mega travel upper bj's and having relaxed the t-bars, i've given the space to compress JUST before limit to the OMEmu 2.00-2.50" front lift shocks w/out causing any carnage.

Ur sitch is unique in one way.... no bj spacers, right?

Not sure on the micrometer level intricacies of the results I got.... but its working w/out breaking anything so far.

Also, t-bars are naturally kryptonite to flex.... how they work just doesnt allow for 't-bar crank-lift AND flexy soft ride', in the same application,..... IMPOSSIBLE.

He's in Independence, and will likely come to me at Big Pine for the Keough Hot Springs respite! Hahaha. Wanna come so we have two stupid car-like IFS rigs to his one worthy SAS BEAST?!?! Lol

First time posting my pics in this thread.

Did a little playing around at work on the lift.....man! No flex at all!!!

Stock suspension, with the exception of low-pro bumpstops and Marlin Crawler extended shackles:

For their price, they're an awesome tire. Mine are pretty loud (to me anyway), and they work great for being 2-ply sidewall tires. When I go off-road, I'll usually air them down to 12 psi, and I can crawl over pretty much anything.

Mine are only 31x10.5x15s. I'm not a hardcore rockcrawler, so for my needs, they're great. Although I'd love 33s, I'm hating the thought of needing to regear and a lifting and/or cutting body parts.

Give it some time. I have found that yotatech is one of the better forums out there. And the people are decent. Some of the other ones are not so nice. I've seen threads on TTora where they spent multiple pages harassing someone over the question they asked and never actually answering it.

Wow, in all reality yotatech is the best site by far for our trucks. I'm sure anyone of us would love to have a solid axle rig, but for many of us its not very practical. Search for Steve shaeffers 4runner on you tube and you'll see that his ifs "junk" does well enough for the average Wheeler. Good luck at pirate, they're flamers

Niice. I should have known

Come to an IFS only thread, bash on IFS, and then get butt-hurt when you get negative responses? Yeah, don't let the door hit ya.
No kidding. That would be like having your AA class at a bar.

Wah happen? Haha...

Reminds me of this kid at my 16th b-day party. He shows up in his Saleen, mocks everyones cars, clothes and so on,.... then proceeds to have his shoes taken and flung up on a wire, keys thrown in the gutter, and ends up getting his dad to bring him the spares. We told his pops about his behavior...His pops forces HIM to apologize and then grounded him for a month from the stang. CONSEQUENCE of acting knobbish when u gloat over something u didnt even sacrifice a single thing in order to obtain. Haha( not saying he didn't pay every dime of his own towards his good stuff,... As I said it just reminded me of something... and, well, gloating is gloating, is it not? ).

I could afford an SAS, .....but cant really justify it when I have 2 kids, both with their own kids, both needing a lil help right now.... Neither of them asking for said help, which is why it's just simple 'priorities' and practical application right now. But, instead of mocking someone who may not even have the option, I'd rather offer to help if I can! Furthermore,....what do I care if someone thinks my journey into Toyotaticulitus is stupid? ARE THWY GONNA FUND MY SAS OR GRIND AND WELD? Not likely. And even if they did offer info, if it came a t a cost of having to tolerate their insufferable condescension? ... meh, no thanks. Btw,.... I still WOULD like to see this 'car' flexing on an incline And, not that I care to explain,....but I do that stuff to test each stage of everything I'm trying to push my IFS to the max without much risk of carnage! I cant drive 50 miles to test it out each time, sorry hehehe

Chef I'm in the same boat ya know. I have four kids of my own. Straight up yeah I can afford a SAS as well but ya no 2 grand Is a lot to dish out at once. The way I see it is my IFS works great and has never really left me stuck. Sure I'd love a SAS as well but why fix it if it ain't broke. One of these days im going to SAS my rig but in the mean time why not have fun with it.

Oltoy let's see what this rig of yours can do. Lets here about your build and the time and money put into it. Did you do the work or did a garage do it or previous owner? Lets here about your background. Do you make 100 grand a year. I'd say your just the guy that drives a Bentley through the week and try's to show off a toy on the weekends. I'd say we would all love to here about your Info and I'd personally like to here what kinda knowledge you have with these yota's. with enough being said you have been flamed enough and probably done ran off to another forum by now. Hopefully you make friends elsewhere cause I don't think you have a single one here.

And did you say earlier that other forums have different faces everyday. Not just the same ole people. Well the different faces are what we call noobs around here. And in the noob world you may be considered a hero. You will probably get respect from them cause most of them are just looking for answers that a shade tree mechanic can answer. So go on back to we're you came from and leave the real yota people alone.
