I would try the fuse panel/ relay box under the hood on the passenger side.

That is probably a good indicator of your problem. The small one you are talking about does it have fuses, relays and crap like that in it? Or does it have a bunch of little ports in it that look like you plug things in to it?

there is the big one that has a bunch of fuses and relays it has a small test port off one end and on the side there is another little one has 2 relays and a fuse

I have looked under the lid of big one it apears dry
the small one on side missing the lid I pulled relays and fuse all look dry
never looked in test port

did the old pull pos off battery test for charge and dies right away
starting to think alt all of sudden
but need to make sure (really broke can't do extra parts)

You can take your alternator to the local parts store and get it tested. A friend of mine one time took his off and used a drill with a socket to spin the pulley. He then used a muli-meter to varify output. One other thing that may help is this. There is some spray made by Ideal that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot. I got mine at Lowe's. Anyway, it is electrical contact cleaner. This stuff has an agent in it that dries very very fast. You may be able to use it dry out the junction box under your hood. I would strongly caution you to make sure that all the cleaner is dry before applying electrical current to your system. So if it were me I would do this....

1. Disconnect Battery CABLES
2. Remove bolts that hold junction boxes to the body. I would look at the little clear tops that are on my slow burn fuses/fusible links and make sure no water is in them. I would take the other "small fuse box" (which I think is your test connection terminal) and turn it upside down gently.
3.Then spray with the contact cleaner. This stuff will clean up the connections and should displace the water.
4. I would take a fan or fans if you got them. Position them under the hood and or truck and turn them on so air can circulate.

The fact that all the idiot lights are on makes me think that you are getting a short or shorts in the system.

well I'm pretty sure it is the alternator i checked for voltage at the large positive post and only got the same as the battery voltage

how long do you think you can drive on a fully charged battery

I blew an alternator belt in the middle of the night in a huge rainstorm 35 miles from home. I left the lights off, didn't use windshield wipers and turned off everything else that would use electricity. I squinted to see the whole way and coasted into my driveway.
