How to remove intake from 22re!?

Well I am balls deep in this headgasket replacement and I just cant seem to separate the intake from the head. Is there a trick here? The exhaust was a breeze but this intake is giving me a migrane!

When I took mine off, I looked at my new intake gasket to figure out where all the bolts/studs were. I used a socket with the universal joint made on them, that really helped. I think I invented a few new yoga postions taking that thing off. And there's that allen bolt, very long, goes right under the thermostat housing.

Did you seperate the intake into two pieces if not that might make it easier to get the wires out of the way it's what I had to do.

Deffinately seperate the intake pieces. There is also a metal coolant line attached to the bottom of the intake, make sure you disconect that too.

The 22re intake can be pretty tricky, don't mess up the vacuum line else you nwill be kick ing yourself

I can't get this metal coolant line out of the way, I can't figure out where the best place to separate it is
