How to Hook Up Fuel Pressure Tester???

Hey everyone! This is my first post here. I've just acquired a '92 pick-up 22RE when my Dad passed in Feb. It has set up for almost 5 years! I know that it was drivable when he parked it last. The only thing I think he was having a little problem with back then was a cold start issue. Since I've had it, it's hard to start cold and hot and very poor acceleration. Also had to change the water pump due to the gasket being bad. I suspect a low fuel pressure problem because I was checking the cold start injector and it only dripped instead of spraying. Also, banjo bolt had no leakage when I opened it up. But, engine had set all night and was cold.
My question is where in the heck can I hook up my fuel gauge. Looks like if I had a modified banjo bolt I could hook it up at the cold start injector. Fuel filter looks pretty new and I found a receipt for one in the glove box. But remember the truck has set up for 5 years!
It only had 63 miles on it since the last oil/air and filter change was done.
Thanks

Do you have the gauge already? What connector does it have? Some gauges come with a Schraeder connector. On the 3VZE, one usually connects to the 12mm Banjo fitting next to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. I believe the preferred take-off location on the 22re is the Cold Start Injector, which I'm pretty sure is a 10mm fitting. This gauge https://www.harborfreight.com/basic-...kit-64939.html claims to have the right fitting (but someone with a 22re could chime in here.)

Before you do all that, I would suggest a flow test. Replace the low-pressure fuel return line from the FPR with a 6mm / 1/4" clear vinyl tube to a suitable container. Jumper FP to B+ in the diagnostic connector. With key-on, that forces the fuel pump to run. I get about 1/2 liter/min that way; if you get substantially less I would suspect a weak pump.

Why the low-pressure line? Whenever you open one of the high pressure (banjo) fittings (ahem!), you must replace the two crush washers. You don't have to do anything like that on the low pressure side.

Thanks for the info. Looks to me like the cold start injector might be the best place to connect the gauge if I can find the right banjo bolt.

LC Engineering sells the modified banjo bolt to accept a pressure gauge.

Are you guys leaving this little fuel gauge on the modified cold start injector banjo bolt permanently or just during testing?

I used a liquid-filled gauge and it is permanent. Same setup in the link I posted (thanks to RAD4Runner), but also used a 90 degree elbow so the gauge faces forward:

My gauge has the Schraeder fitting, so the fuel line to Schraeder fitting is "permanently" installed. I have other places that I need to use the gauge.
