Super late on this one but i just saw it.
192,000 the past owner beat the crap out of it in the sandy mud of Florida and now I am beating it up in the Lava. When i first bought it at 178,000 i had to do new rear end and a trans.. and right now it's in there getting a HG job water pump, timing belt, radiator and a knock sensor. Thing should be like new when i get it back! Or it's going into the ocean

198,983 miles 1988 4x4 badly abused picked up for 500 bux at a tow yard under salvage title leaking coolant.

since have replaced the u turn hose of the back of the motor that was leaking the coolant, the water pump, O2 sensor and repaired burned ecu. sealed the cold start bypass air intake valve to fix high idle(what a funky design like a thermostat)
have variously minor oil leaks that are highly annoying, and one weak cylinder that needs a valve repair showing 120psi hot compression. also likely could need a use a round of new crank bearings, because its a manual I sure that the thrust bearings are wasted if not read to fail.

I think 200,000 if a good time to to a general red neck quick rebuild

-valve job for both heads
-new crank and rod bearings and thrust plates
-rings pistons bore, and hone???? optional maybe
-oil pump, it probably looks ok, but that shaft is getting fatigued, might snap off before the motors time
-SEALS
-SEALS
-SEALS
-gaskets NO SILCONE!!!!! USE SOMETHING BETTER hylomar, hytac, aviation forma gasket etc
-NEW Coolent hoses

Just turned 252k today, original head gaskets. We'll see how long she lasts. No noises or oil burn but a little low on power. Got 14mpg last fill-up mixed driving.

My '93 pickup just clocked over 260k miles. It had a head gasket recall performed in '98 by a previous owner, no extensive work done since, as far as I can tell.

We'll see...

my truck blew headgaskets at 150k even with headers... ticking time bomb, and could go off at any minute. Headers do not help.

320 000 hard worked km then timing belt idler pulley let go, the engine ran really low because of an oil filter gasket and started to have a bottom end knock then the headgasket started to go all in a under 1000km

Bought mine in 2000 with 93,000 miles on the clock. Had just had dealer HG recall done before I bought it. I ran it up to 218,000 miles in 2007 & blew a HG after overheating it twice (leaking water pump). Did a full rebuild & now have 264,000 trouble-free miles. I've replaced the TPS, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Pulsation Damper, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter & Distributor in the past year. Runs GREAT! I'm averaging over 17 mpg city/highway right now.

Don't doubt it with reasonable maintenance and care. My Ford Ranger is jealous and decided to shut off it's air-conditioning today.

279K with only basic maintenence and lots of time at the redline. Burns oil, has little power and only gets 16mpg on the highway but cannot kill it.

Just brought mine home two days ago-my first 3.0-and it has 256,xxx on there. No idea as to what it's had done to it, but compression checked out. I did buy the whole truck just to get the doors and part out the rest though.
