About 188,000 miles on mine right now. Nothing has been touched with the exception of regular maintenance - dist-cap/rotor, plugs, oil, filters, etc.
The headgasket recall was done on my truck around 55,000 miles though.

engnbldr is great...stellar reputation.

I have 214,000 miles, HG recall done in 1999 with @ 90k on the engine. I've had ZERO problems. I bought it in 2000 with 92k on the ODO. Replaced timing belt @ 156,000 miles, water pump @ 201,000 miles, various other small stuff in preventive maintenance. She runs very strong & gets @ 23 mpg on the interstate. Next repair will be a new TPS to fix a missing problem.

My 3.0 had 222,000 miles when it had to be rebuilt due to a rod knock.

Looks like they are averaging 185-225k before needing work done.

yall give me hope...

untill i read this i thought all hg replacements were done b/c they had to be, not just b/c the recall was offered(its smart though)...my 95 3.0 only has 125k on it, and was a late 95, so the dealer told me it shouldnt have the hg issue(knock wood) but the high miles like 450k is great, and i take care of mine. my boy is due this march, and i plan for the ole runner to be around for his first truck if im not still drivin it.

My 92 only has 85,500 on it. Should be with me for a while yet. I also just bought Mt Goat's 3.0 to give me something to tinker with.

I got everyone beat

I have a 91 4runner V6, I have 416,000 on it. It's finally getting a rebuild due to a head gasket failure. I have had 32" tires on it for the last 200,000 so the real number is even a bit higher than that!

mine's a baby - 179,000km (about 111,000mi). timing belt was done at 145k, according to the sticker on the rad. it's slow, and drinks gas like there's no tomorrow... but it's alright!

175, 650 kilometers (about 112, 000miles) on mine, and i have had no problems yet! but since the woman who owned it before me did not take care of it the way a Toyota should be taken care of, she did not changethe oil in over 20, 000miles, she red lined it when ever she could...and that is just the start of the problems that she started. i can only imagine what the consiquence will be of these. and now a woman will never get behind my wheel again!

But my friend(who is a vet. for pets) has well over 1 million kilometers on his 91 4runner and he replaced his head gasket at 500, 000km and hasnt done it since. that and the suspension was the only thing that really went on his. He is in Medicine Hat Alberta...for those who live in that area

226,000 on mine, head gasket done, runs like a champ. recently drove all the way to moab from SF area at 75mph across the desert. No problems at all. That's why we own Toyotas!

My 95 4Runner has 160k miles on it and the head gasket was done at 156k so I'm curious how much longer it'll last. My friends 93 went with a rod knock at 148k miles.

165K on mine, just got it back from a blown coil issue that sidelined it. have a small valve tap and oil leak from the valve cover but nothing too substantial.

Seafoam the gas tank prior to every oil change, and seafoam the intake manifold once a year.

gets driven daily to work, 10w40 Penzoil high-mileage.

233,000 and still going on the original headgasket. It's noisy, leaks oil and is way underpowered, but like I said - still going.
