How can I make my own exhaust?

So I like all of the threads about the exhaust systems and I need to replace my exhaust manifold as it is cracked and my entire sytem has numerous holes. So far I am leaning towards a 2" system with a high flow cat and muffler.Does anybody know where I can get the pre bent tubing? I have noticed that some weld the pipes together and some use a slip joint. I like the slip joint idea as it can easily be removed later, but how do I get the large 2.1/8 ID for the 2" to slide into?
Thanks

You need to get a muffler shop to bend the tubing and such for you, it really is better to weld most of the important or permanent tubes together..

Really though to make your exhaust you need to have the muffler shop spread the pipe for you a bit, and then be exact in your measurements..

you could buy the bigger diamiter tubing to slip over the smaller tubing and use the exhaust clamps to clamp them down. you can find those clamps at numerous auto parts stores. you could always weld later after you build the system too. Another way you could do this method is but a tail pipe expander and expand the pipe you have to make it slip over.

as for bends you may be able to find pre-bent tubing at an exhaust shop. i had trouble finding this but it can be found at good shops aswell as like summit racing. I recomend 180 degree bends to work off of. What motor is this for? if its a v6 i would recomend atleast 2.25 exhaust but that may just be me. for my 3.4 im using 2.5

Where are you located?? What vechile you need it for and motor??? but 2 1/4 would also be better. If your in D.C. Maryland Va area we can bend it for you anyway you want it or if you are not and have an idea how you want it bent and willing to pay shipping we can pre bend it for you but you would have to have it weld together or we could make it a slip and clamp set up for you.
