Need a muffler, 3.0. sound byte inside
Hey guys, i currently have a flowmaster muffler on my 3.0. It was fine before i did the y-pipe mod but now it is loud and annoying. I'm looking for something that will still give me that throaty sound, but at a quieter level. Suggestions? Sound bytes?
this is how it currently sounds. its a little loud but at 3k-4k rpms it is VERY loud but then it gets quiet again after 4k rpms

try installing a resonator on your setup...it should quiet/smooth it out a good bit...makes me glad that my 40-series on my 3.4L isn't all that loud, but then again, i still have the cat...

I just got the 14" installed and kept the stock pipe. Very nice tone. Its a little loud with the window down but pretty quite with the window up. If you want quieter, go with the 18" Magnaflow.
The guy at the exhaust shop also said the Magnaflow's are a straight through design and are a better flowing muffler than the Flowmaster.

yeah i want to keep the y-pipe so i need something slightly quieter than what you'd have on a stock system to keep it about the same noise level. i was thinking along the lines of a magnaflow 18", 5x8 oval
