All I can say is....well.....what I've already said. I've never had to use a vacuum on my clutch...........or my brakes, for that matter. Both systems work very well. I think it's safe to say a vacuum bleeder "could" work for someone if they were having so much trouble getting the air of their lines. But, I think it's a bit over emphatic to say one "must" use a vacuum or they never will get the air when obviously it's not the case. Like I said, it's a simple system. There may be a reason or two they're still getting air that even a vacuum won't remedy.

This is a great thread for bleeding the clutch. I was bleeding mine yesterday and the reservoir went dry, crap. I was not sure if I had to bench bleed or not. Went to AZ today and bought a one man bleeder kit, worked perfectly. I ran an entire bottle of fluid through the clutch. Now its nice and clean, the old stuff looked like chocolate milk.
