Funy Idle from my 87 22re runner

I had many issues with my TPS and that was all taken care of. (New OEM TPS) I don't have any codes stored or anything that shows up when I jump the diagnostic box. What happens is that when I am at Idle with the engine at operating temp, the engine revs between 500 and 1200 RPM's. The only other time this has ever happened before was when I was running the A/C. Any ideas?

I have thought about this over the weekend and still could not think of anything that could cause this funny/ rough idle. Has anyone else experienced this?

Looping idle often occurs when you have the idle screw set too high. Check and see if it only does the looping and strange idle when your foot is on the brake. If this is the cause simply bring the idle down a bit. However be sure the TPS is adjusted correctly it can be very difficult to get it spot on.

Could this be a cause of a sticking TPS? The TPS was adjusted to spec and there are no codes present as of now.

There is also an AC idle you could take a look at.

Thanks guys, I will have to take a look at the vac lines in the morning. However, my engine does not do this all the time, it seems only to do it when it is warmed up and when I come to a stop after driving for awhile.

The reason that I had a looping idle was becasue the dash pot was out of adjustment. Now all I have to do is replace the o2 sensor and adjust the valves.

dash pot

My truck is dooing this same thing. Why did you have to replace you 02 sensor? What exactly does the dash pot due? I took mine off because I thought is was somthing for the a/c it was off for about a month then the idle started acting up. Should I put the dashpot back on and if so how do you adjust it?
