Dealer and truck problems
i have a 94 pickup 22re, it has erratic idle problems, the truck will randomly jump 900-1600 rpm and when its in H4 the truck will hold at 2000rpm. I finally went to the dealer , $301 dollars and 4 visits later the problem it's still there, The truck is throwing a maf and tps error code both have been replaced and adjusted. The dealer preformed a electric system diagnosis, they found a 12v power short in the right rear brake/tail socket causing backfeed. But the problem is still there so i don't know want to do.

well if the dealer didnt fix it and you paid them, then take it back and make them fix it. you should be able to do it yourself and save some money from all the help there is on here.
sorry i dont have the 22re, and if the dealer didnt find it firsthand, i doubt i can lol.

If you paid them money to fix it, and it's not fixed, then they owe you a refund or at least to apply the previous, useless repair cost toward the correct repair that actually fixes the problem. They promised to fix it, then failed and took your money anyway. Don't let them get away with it. Every trip to my local dealer service means at least 1-3 more trips to allow them to fix the things they broke or didn't fix. My local dealer, Toyota Santa Monica, apparently only has a few techs that are familiar with a truck as old as mine('91) so they've made plenty of mis-diagnoses and useless 'false' repairs. Also, check the entire area of the truck that they worked in...Toy SM destroyed the bottom of my fan shroud, but I didn't discover it until way later. There are better dealer service departments but they're way far away. Good luck.

I just took the hose off of the throttle body and inside theres a strong smell of gas is that normal? Inside the intake manifold it looks like theres a lot of carbon build up.

If the dealer charges by the hour, and they worked on it for an amount of time resulting in said charges, then they are not obligated to fix it, unless you continue to pay them their hourly fees. That is sometimes what you get for going to the 'stealership'. I have thrown money into the dealeship pockets before, and ended up driving away with the same problems I came in with. They do not guarantee that they can fix everything. Learn your lesson.

EXACTLY! Thats why lexus won't sell parts most of the time because they want you to come into the shop and buy their parts and pay their outrageous prices to get it fixed. Couple months ago my moms exhaust went out (cat blew up) and they charged us $5500 dollars for a new one. And they can do it because we didn't want a loud aftermarket one.
