Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

It also works for the 3.0 and the 3.4, but again, you can't use that method to torque it back up, so in my mind, I don't understand why somebody would bother doing it that way.

Dang, that sounds like a nightmare. So its turning but won't back out? Have you tried prying with a big screwdriver while turning lefty loosey?

another trick is one i used to get a stuck lug nut loose once. it might work for the crank bolt too. put on the breaker bar/ratchet with the bar off to the right, put a jack underneath the bar. lift the jack. the bar goes up with the jack, forcing the bolt counter-clockwise with a lot more force than your bicep could give. you're gonna have to have it in gear with someone stomping on the brakes for this. i can take a picture of you don't follow what i'm saying.

Are you sure the crank is not turning and the bolt is? I don't think ayoung101 was even answering your question, your problem doesn't seem to fit his suggestion.

yeah my bad i was answering the ORIGINAL question of the thread, not your question about the stripped bolt. upon re-reading it, i noticed that this thread is 2 years old. hahaha, why are we still talking about it? as for you, i'd recommend starting your own thread. sorry i can't help more.
