I'm thinking about hooking up my cobra in my single cab and running a PA speaker just dont have a clue to how to make it fit. Anybody want to show me how they did it in theirs?

 

I removed my useless ash tray and the mount for it. removed the whole section of console so that i could tap into the cig lighter for power. then i took a dremell to the plastic behind it, cut it all out. to mount the cobra i used double sided foam tape and industrial zip ties to secure the unit. i will post a pic tomorrow once its light out.

i think it looks real clean there, and its out of the way.

 

I did the exact same thing. but i dont keep the mic plugged in because i cant get into 5th gear with it in.

 

Old then new,,,,,, Mic hangs from the mirror....

 

I am able to get into 5th fine with my mic plugged in.

 

Yeah, your plug looks a little lower profile. i think its the best place to put it though. or where teuf has it

 

Glad you made this thread! My last 4runner had a single din CB radio and for my new rig I wanted to get a compact CB to fit in place of my ashtray. The only thing I want to change with this new CB is to have a scan feature so I could find people to talk to on long trips and have a CB speaker function because I loved that feature on my last one!

 

I set my fullsize cobra inside the glove box. Its rough looking but it works for me. I'll get some pics up. I also have a PA, which i used an old car alarm horn for,which again is very "rustic" looking.
