Ok I have looked around in parts yards and stuff like that. I have seen many other dashes but not mine....is there a way to get this part without having to go to the dealer??

Im in Montgomery Alabama, if I were to search it on ebay, what would I call this piece??

Even in pictures, it seems like everyone has a different dash than mine....did Toyota try this dash and dislike it because of this problem?? I was riding down a dirt road one day and it basically just flopped in my lap....

I'm going to call it a "dash pad"

yeah the dash on my 91 is a single peice all the way across, so mine's different as well...

Looks like your in the same boat as me. Just picked up a 93 from a guy who had a new ignition switch installed. Obviously he had a novice install it as that piece your referring to is missing and the Black bezel (if you want to call it that) is broke in a few areas.

The multiple piece one seemed to be limited to earlier versions of the pick-up and runner later models switched to the one piece though the multi piece still seemed to show up I've seen examples in the yards up to about 93. It's really a crapshoot... It may have to do with build location of the vehicle ie Japan or NUMMI which dash you got IDK.

yea, I think it depends on where the truck was put together....I have been thinking about just snatching the whole dash out and replacing it with a runner dash, is that possible??

Well I found it on www.toyodiy.com . The part is labeled as a Meter Hood as previously stated. The OEM Part number is 55421-04010-BO for the medium gray interior. I still have to pick up the Instrument Cluster Finish Panel which I know is not going to be cheap.

I've got the same two piece set-up on my dash. And I have a 91. Around here there seems to be a lot of pieces like that. In yards anyway. lol

I'd like to know how to remove the hood meter as the location you showed. Ours is cracked and I want to remove and fit it.

i had a 91 pickup that the po had destroyed that part trying to install a radio. he had also lost the glove box and lower dash around it.i wasn't able to locate it and i think it was 200.00 give or take at the dealer. so if you find one grab it ,they can be painted if needed. i never found one and i couldn't see paying that much for the part, since i only gave 500.00 for the truck.

There's no simple quick way you have to disassemble the dash entirely, but it's not as hard as it sounds and goes pretty fast once you get into it.

Thanks Aviator, the car owner is playing to have a visit to his child in US. He'll get one over there.

dash bezel / meter

I have one of those in blue and local yard has a gray one, if needed by anyone.
I believe the 1 piece dash(prone to cracking with age) is japan and the more brittle and breakable 2 piece is nummi.
now how about something to stop the creaking noise from the 2 piece?
I read somewhere about using a length of rubber hose stuffed in the dash?
I'm new to this site but had a 91 Toyota 4wd for 15 years.
Currently working with my (new) 94 Yota, complete with aforementioned squeaky dash.

My 94 has one. You just pull the black gauge cover that covers the speedo, and it screws to the back of that.
