Air conditioner removal

Doing a full rebuild on a 94 3.0 and leaning towards
performance, is it possible to eliminate the air conditioning?

Take the ac belt off? Performance and 3.0 don't go together.

The belt turning an un-activated compressor clutch takes no power you could measure. Just don't turn on the air conditioner when you want "performance."

I don't have the exact figures, but my guess is that the air conditioner compressor, when running, takes about 1-2 horsepower. But if you want that badly enough, just don't push the button.

A/C performance kit. It's a rewiring kit so your A/C is always on; it comes with a replacement button that says "performance" that works the opposite of your stock ac button. It turns the ac off when you push it and boosts your power by the previously calculated 1-2 horsepower.

When the engine is run at a high rpm the a/c clutch disengages to keep from damaging the compressor. So any time you do a WOT run the a/c compressor is not turning.
