94 came stock with 31's ?

Did the 31X10.50R15 come stock from the factory on the trucks ? my sticker on the door has 10.5 15 on it for tire size , i think mine is the deluxe model but not sure , i was just woundering if they did that since i was thinking toyota at least the 4runners did my spare is a goodyear rt/s and its a 31 . also if it did come with that size what would the gearing be in it ? it has the 3.0 and a 5speed . thanks for any info !

Run your VIN through Nix99 site. Should give you some relative info there.

Check your axle code. Stock 31's with a v6 SHOULD be G254. (4.56 gears) Although I have seen messed up tags that say G254 and 225/75/15 for tires.

But there are lots of ways to check if you need to know for sure.

Drop your drive shaft and see if the end is painted yellow.

This was taken out of one of Tofer's posts, should be what you are looking for..

* you can tell the gear ratio by several methods: Color code, VIN code, or simply counting teeth.

* Color code method: toyota painted the Pinion end from the factory:
410: Pink
430: Blue
456: Yellow
4:88: White

VIN code:
410: G292/G294
430: G282/G284
456: G254
488: G144

Counting the Teeth Method
410: 41(r)/10(p)
430: 43(r)/10(p)
456: 41(r)/9(p)
488: 39(r)/8(p)

OKAY...2 things.

That NIX99 site is cool.
and
holyhell on the info KIYOBROWN.
that's why I love this site, everybody always willing to dig in for each other. Good Job.

the OP's question wasn't quite straight, so I will say, yes my 92 came with 31's as an option. I bought it with stock tires and put my own 31's on, did not re-gear, at that point I believe there was no difference in gearing (i'm pretty sure I remember it that way, though I want to believe otherwise), just a speedometer re-calibration is needed for me (never did it)

I went up the attic and wnet through my box of brochures (i used to grab one very time I would go in a dealer)....on a 93 truck with a v-6 and 31's it would come stock with 4.88's (actually 4.75ish or something like that) and if it's the standard non 31'' package it was 4.1's(or something like that)......so my previous post was wrong.

Ok, let's get one thing straight. I didn't come up with the info. I copied and pasted TOFER's post. I am not trying to take credit for someone elses info. But if you want to thank me for copying and pasting......... Your welcome!! And I have looked on nix99 as well. Cool stuff, lots of parts.......

And 4.88's were an option for v-6, 31's and an AUTO. OP has a 5 speed. But again, even with all that, refer to your codes.

No matter how you got the info, you helped. And that's what counts.

Just like all these guys are saying. It depends on the Drivetrain package of your truck. Look in the door.

my 94 v6 4x4 automatic runner is stock with 31's geared 4:88. i do believe that 5speeds were 4:56 though. here is a good guide someone pointed that a lot of you are familiar with. http://www.brian894x4.com/Gearratiosanddiffs.html

The bottom right of your label should have the axle code on it. Just look for the "g" code

Look on the specs sticker on the inside of the driver side door and it should tell you the original gear ratios as well as the original tire size.
