under the passenger rear seat is an access panel to ck pwr to pump.if its bad you will have to remove the tank or you can cut an access "hatch".if its a really nice truck i don't know i would do that but i did on a 91 that i bought not running.didn't want to drop the tank to do it then find out the engine was bad.i cut it with a jig saw 3 sides then folded it out of the way.if you do this use a short blade or what i did is put the thick manual down & ran the saw on top of it.had to drop the tank later anyway due to rust build up.not too awful bad on a lift

Just did this myself, If it doesnt have the full access hold under the seat then I suggest cutting it tinshears work great, It takes 30min to cut and replace the pump or you can spend HRs dropping the tank and not to mention anykind of spillage and watch very very carfully not to over stretch the fill tube hose, They can get weatherd and break (That is a whole other nightmare itself).
You can easly make a seal over the bigger hole and the carpet and seat will hold it down. (Thick Tinfoil and silicone when your absolutly done)
To test the pump also you can turn the ignition to on and move the AirFlowMeter flap, You will hear the flow through the FuelPressureRegulator.

Assuming it is bad, follow VooDoo's advice to check operation before removing. What makes you think it's bad?

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but with key on will not energize the fuel pump flow, I think you have to move the AFM vane for pump to work. So pump may be good.

You are correct about having to move the vain, Another test is to jump the FP and B+ together at the test block, You still need to turn the key to on, This method bypasses the opencircuit relay.
If you do replace it go Walbro, half the price and twice the quality

Really? Twice the qualty, how do you figure? Hell, I'd be happy if it was just the same quality (I already have one installed BTW)
