4runner rear seat belts

Anyone ever tried to install rear shoulder belts on a 1st gen 4runner. Wife is having a fit about the lack of shoulder strapsfor my 6yr old and 2yr old when he gets out of the 5pt. harness seat. Is there a safe place to install them? I did notice some round hooks that have a centering bolt in them in about the same area as the belts would install. They are located behind the fold down seat in the top . Can these be used as a mounting place? Will the fiberglass hold them? Of course you would also have them mounted in the floor board as well. Any ideas!!!!

you can order them from the dealer. I installed them with the help of waskilly...if I can do it...anyone can do it. You end up with new shoulder belts and lap belts...the shoulder belt buckle fits with the lap belt buckle.....if you order them and see them you'll understand how they work. They come with instructions as well.

Don't let them tell you they only can get one side...they are the same part for both sides.

Others here have posted about some aftermarket shoulder belts they've added.

i got some from a standard cab pickup. have to have the standard cab belts because the retractor housing is a self contained unit on the standard cabs. they are mounted on the roll bar. works perfect.
