3vze Engine Pull Help

Hey guys

I think I got everything disconnected to pull my 92 3vze short block.

A/C and PS off
Exhaust off
Trany bolt off
4 Engne mount bolts off

Just for kicks I puta jack under the tranny and lifed abut 1/4"

The tranny and engine lifted and so did the vehicle!

I thoughti wuold have lifted the engine off the mounts.

Any ideas of thoughts?

Tranny BOLT? One bolt??

Don't forget to unhook the O2 sensor wire~

You have to remove the radiator & pull the engine forward to get it off the transmission input shaft.

I second what TNrabbit said.

Remove radiator and fan.I sust pulled a 3.0 out of my parts truck yesterday alone.Once I got the chain hooked up I also put a jack on the tranny but jacked only enough to know it moved. Then I lifted the motor so it was about an inch off the motor mounts with the engine lift.At first it seemed stuck but I knew better,I just shook the crap out of the motor while pulling forward. You need tu pull it forward a good 3 inches before you can start hoisting upward that's why you must remove the radiator and fan.It would suck to blow out the rad because you didn't take ten minutes to remove it.By the way why are you removing iy?

oops sorry, "bolts" got them all off.

Ok, got it, take the radiator off.

Where is the o2 sensor, I sure I got everything off, is it hidden?

the heads are already off and have been rebuild.

Thanks Rabbit

Fan is off but I'll put the radiator. Roofmaster, thanks for the details. so then:

1) put jack under tranny with just a little pressure for support
2) chain up and lift motor off the mounts
3) pull forward while shaking motor to disconnect tranny

Another question: disconnect the motor mounts consists of just the two outer bolts and not the large (17mm) that is in the center of the mount bracket, correct?

I'm taking it out because the #2 piston slaps and knocks. the heads have been rebuilt and now I'm going to rebuild the lower end with a master rebuild kit since i know I need to replace the #2 piston, rod, bearing, or rings. Not sure until I get it out.

Thanks!
