My original radiator looked pretty beat up, the fins were very brittle and would crumble if you looked them funny. I wasn't happy with my engine temps while climbing up mountain roads at low speed. My gauge would read 3/4 the whole time. So I bought some new stuff.

Parts:

CSF 2314 - 3 core radiator form radiator barn.
New OEM dual stage thermostat
New OEM fan clutch (my old one wasn't working at all)

The CSF 2314 bolted up just fine, no fitment issues whatsoever, here are some comparison shots of the CSF and my stocker.

I just put the same exact radiator in my 94 22re! I was amazed how much fluid my system holds now.

 

How are the temps?

 

I went with an all aluminum unit that LowRange had for stupid cheap last year. I was a little scared at first because of the price but when it came in Silla box I was shocked! Paid 138 bucks for it and I ordered some silicone hoses as well. She runs cool as a cucumber now! Hell I didn't realize till the other week my fan clutch wasn't working and its been HOT here this year and it hasnt gotten up to half way one time! I've been very pleased with the set up so far.

 

That Low Range radiator is decent? I think they've got some left, I might hafta score one.

 

Yeah I was hesitant too at first! But I've had it in my truck for a little over a year now and have had zero problems with it!

 

i have the CSF 3 core in my truck. been good so far, no problems at all.
about 2k mi. so far.

 

My Autometer gauge hovered right around 190 during my test drive cruising around town.

My stock gauge never moved from this position.

 

Post up what the temps are when your pushing it and on slow mountain roads. If you don't mind.

 

I got the cheap aluminum plastic one works fine, no paint just leaft it raw, i run cool 1/5 in temp on the road, 1/2 in 4wd climbing a hill, havent seen it go hotter than 1/2. seeing your metal one makes me wish i went with the copper 3 core. looks good!

 

I have yet to do any slow mountain roads, but I did take it up the Cuesta Grade near San Luis Obispo (SOCAL), its a pretty long & steep 7% grade. My auto meter gauge peaked at about 205 pulling 4th gear 55MPH the whole way. The stock gauge was reading hair over half way. (it was bout 75-80F that day too)

I'll let you guys know my mountain climbing temps when the time comes.

 

I know this is a lil old thread but did ur stock radiator cap fit or did you have to get an aftermarket one?

 

My stock cap didn't fit, but the local parts store had many in stock for about ten bucks.

 

Okay I jus bought a new one from the dealer, but wasn't sure if it'd fit jus ordered a new radiator. Thanks though guess ill jus carry it to the store n get a cap that fits when it comes in.

 

My original radiator didn't have the two smaller outlets.
What do they go to? How do I plug them?

How's the radiator holding up so far? How are your temps driving up a mountain?

They're for automatic transmission cooler option. No need to cap, but best to do so to keep moisture or other things that could cause corrosion through it. I'm looking for some plastic/rubber caps for mine.

 

Try Napa for line caps, they should be in the vacuum line and accessories section.

I have been losing water for about two years now out of mine but I could never find where it was leaking. Last night, my radiator finally showed me. I want to upgrade some since I gotta replace it. I have just the old plastic tank one. Will this one work in my 94 4WD 2.4L?
