1995 4runnner exhaust question...

hows it going? have a 1995 4Runner V6 4WD SR5

well the muffler is rusted and it needs to be replaced to pass emissions/inspection (i live in NJ in case youre wondering)

I going with the OEM muffler assembly...I was wondering how much on average should the part and labor cost me? any estimates would be appreciated...

Kevin

P.S. I got quoted a price and feels a bit too high

when you say oem do you mean toyota or are you going to a muffler shop and getting an oe style muffler put on it?

oem meaning he ordered directly from toyota because theyre the only ones that have the o2 sensor on the connecting pipe

at least im assuming thats what oem means?

oem = original equipment manufacturer.

ok, I just wasn't sure... A lot of people will go get an "oe style" muffler and call it oem. If you went to toyota to get the muffler then you will definately be paying a hefty price.

it is 2 bolts and 3 hangers - super easy install you can do yourself. The O2 senso is in the pipe befre the cat, that pipe is probably OK and doesn't come with the muffler assembly. everything from the cat back is one piece from toyota.

Hey theone;

I would look into getting maybe a Magnaflow muffler instead of OE from the stealership!
I got my Stainless Magnaflow for $$110 cdn.
I think an aftermarket Muffler like the Magnafow will help your 3.0L a little more!!

Good luck and keep us posted on what you decide!!
