I run GL4 75w-90 Redline in my trans. I use GL5 Redline in the transfer and both diffs.
I don't necessarily endorse one oil over another, but I will say Redline reduced my driveline sound over regular house brand 75w-90 by quite a bit.
I got everything in yesterday. Realized I was missing 2 17mm bolts...Shout out to Yotashop for having them in stock. Probably pretty important to have those bolts...Don't know how long I've been without. 😂🤦♂️
I noticed my 4wd indicator switch was screwed up..
Your link just goes to Partsgeek home page, not to the item you're thinking about buying. Click it and see
Terminals have tabs on them to lock them in place when you slide them into a connector. It'll slide in, but the tab keeps it from coming back out unless depressed. No soldering needed.
If the tab on the terminal got ruined maybe you ll need to crimp a new one on.
here's a picture of a spade terminal with the tab. If the tab is still there, just flattened, maybe you can fix well enough that it locks in. it doesn't take much.
Ok, wait.
The back up switch is two wires, but in your picture with the assembled transmission you have that installed and it looks ok.
So you're looking for the 4wd indicator switch. No, that one from PartsGeek will not work. Not for that. The oem number for the 4wd indicator is 84222-35020 and it's discontinued.
Good catch Millball.

damn...story of my life!
I jammed the wire back in and it "clicked." I'll remove the whole thing, clean it and see what's going on...The 4wd light isn't IMPERATIVE, but it's nice to have...I let my buddy drive my truck once and he left in 4hi when he hit the freeway to grab me from the airport. 🤦♂️🤦♂️ No light so he didnt' know.
I just got the electrical wiring diagram book...waiting on the othe vol1 and 2 of the service manual.
The 4wd indicator didn’t illuminate before the trans was dropped? You might want to remove the sender and ohms check it for continuity. At the same time jump the connector on the harness to ground and see if the 4wd bulb lights up. With key on of course

It did...my speedo worked as well, this was all before I had the clutch changed about a year ago. When my buddy did the clutch at his shop my speedo quit working and the 4wd light quit working 🤦♂️
I guess I can pull the plug out and see if the end has power. I also changed the speedo wire. That was a huge pain in the ass getting the cable out of the dash..They don't give you much wiggle room. I wanted to pull the cable out of the dash have a little push and see if that thing moves.
When you shift into 4wd the plunger on the sender gets push in, completing the ground. So if you go up to the connector where the wire got pulled out just connect a jumper wire to the terminal on the wire harness side and ground it out to the frame. The indicator light should come on. Assuming it does, you then can remove the sender from the trans and just quickly check with you multi meter that you have continuity in the sender when the plunger is pushed in. Connect one probe to the terminal on the wire, with the other probe on the threads of the sender.
If both check out ok you just need to get a solid connection at the connector where that wire got pulled out in the first place.
