Did the 3.0L to 3.4L swap, now I'm almost finished with A340H to R150F swap, but I'm having trouble finding the rear output shaft seal for the VF1A transfer case. Every website, parts store, dealership and forum come up with the wrong seal (most show a 40x59x10).

The one it requires is a 41mm x 61mm x 10/15mm. Markings on the seal read: "KOYO-CR 3 MHSA 41 61 10/15SXLT"

This is a transfer case that I bought and it's chain drive, and is found behind the R150F.

Have you tried one of the seals it calls for ??

Just because you have a odd ball seal doesn`t mean it is the correct one .

Just which Industrial Bearing Suppliers have you tried to source the seal you have.

If you insist that is the one you must have.

right on dude-- I backtraced it through the Timken interweb, then cross-launched discovery mode and ended up with some superceded stealership numeros that were still decoded incorrect.

Looks like National/Timken 710141 is the ticket, however. Toyota part number MIGHT be 90311-41007 which replaces 90311-41005. Going to order it and see if it's correct.

Still odd, though, Rockauto doesn't show it as an option, and all the Toyota lookups point to 90311-38016 or 90311-38140, both which are too small (58mm bore dia.)

The thing with Toyota parts one part can have several different numbers each application on a different vehicle or different year.

Here's what I ended up going with:


^^^^ New one on the left. This one is a tad thicker, plus the flange is thicker too, but both ID & OD are identical.



^^^^^ New one on the right, not as thick as original, but same ID & OD.

Correct part number for rear output seal is 90311-41007. Front is 90311-41006.

Just spent an entire day driving around and surfing the web trying to figure out why all the parts stores keep giving me a 59mm seal, when my bore is 61mm. The stealership finally said 90311-41007. As you noted, correct diameter, but a lower profile. So I just need to double check: you've got the 90311-41007 on your VF1A (chain drive) transfer case, on the output end, and it works, right?

Just on a lark, try Marlin Crawler. They have been pretty darn good to me over the years.

Yessir- it worked out just fine. I wouldn't lead you astray!!! Been driving it on the weekends and drives like a champ. Dry ground underneath where she's parked.

Old thread, but I had to share to help others maybe- Had the same problem. I can confirm though that the National 710141 does fit the rear .
