Repair or replace rotten rear 1/4 panel and tailgate?
Hi guys,
I'm looking for some advice. My 1st Gen has a rotten rear quarter panel and tailgate.
Should I try and repair the existing or should I fit some new panels?
Deathrunner has directed me towards these -
http://www.hannemannfiberglass.com and http://www.toyotafiberglass.com
Anyone used their products, and what are they like to fit?
Thanks in advance.

repairing the old is pointless ... you'll NEVER get the rust out , and it will return .
NOBODY .. but toyotafiberglass.com ... has complete 4 runner replacement panels ..
We have 2 different styles
stock http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/4runner.htm
and CUSTOM
3" flared http://www.toyotafiberglass.com/IM001669.JPG
there is also an install thread here .. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116/4-skin-98299/
also a "toughness" vid check it out .. http://s76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...t=IM001682.flv
bottom line .. the panels are super easy to install , and are a great product ..I promice , you'll not find a better replacement .

Yeop, CJ is in a class of his own!! He really does a unbelieveable job and the Customer Support is un-matched! I wouldn't go anywhere else for fiberglass pieces! I don't think you will find better craftsmanship, assistance or a better product out there!
I would bet my 4 Runner on it!

If the fiberglass 4Runner quarters were available about a year earlier, I totally would have used them when fixing up my 84. (bonus points for being a composite materials engineering student and having a fiberglass truck, haha). Rather, I had to use some toyota quarters that were steel and weld em on. Ive got some fun pics of my truck as a skeleton tho! Good luck on the project

shipping to AU is not cheep , a single set of sides (crated) go air freight @ ~ $1000.00 CDN ... and your import taxes are expencive as well ..
If you email me cj@toyotafiberglass.com .. I can work out some pricing for you .

I don't think so, but email Corey (slacker) directly on www.toyotafiberglass.com. He's good to deal with and will answer your questions. I have a set of his front fenders and love the fact that they'll never rust.
