rear leaf spring replacement

Can someone here suggest replacement rear springs for my 89 4runner. I would like to get the stock height without any extra lift, and improve the ride, if possible. A good price is also important!
Thanks for any suggestions
Rod

try the Downey 2" lift springs @ www.downeyoff-road.com or you can search for the Zuk Coil. I believe the downey spring may help you get back to level height or a slight rake.

JC Whitney also carries a stock height replacement spring

About $125.00:

i have the same problem and was thinking about just putting in some 2" shakles? Is there any reason why this might be a bad idea instead of getting some Add a leafs?

The shacke lift will give you a quick fix, but down the road you will more than likely end up with some negative arch to your springs, possibly breaking one. AAL's are also kind of a stop gap measure. Toyota rear springs have always kind of sucked. After going the AAL's and shackles on previous trucks I would suggest going with new springs like the ones Roger (4crawler) suggested. Initial cost is more than doing shackles etc, but better in the long run. If you do end up replacing springs remember to replace the u-bolts too.

I have some of the pros and cons to the various lift options on the web page below:

is there any chance of me warping the axle itself or causing any other kind of damage? Thanks

wHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GET THE SHACKLES!
I did them and the sped the sagging up. Your best bet is a new set of leaf springs or the zuk mod,I chose to do tuff country add a leaves(not the beste but cheap) and a Sky manufacturing u-bolt flip kit, I have at least a 3" lift back there not to mention my springs our rearched where they were flat.
I just need to install the ball joint spacers and hd torsion bars now..

A shackle lift will not affect axle or spring wrap, that is affected by the vertical separation of the center line of the axle (where the torque is applied to the wheels) and the place where the axle meets the spring pack (where that torque is resisted) and the stiffness of the spring pack. So adding a lift block will increase that separation, increasing the chances of the axle twisting under the springs. A longer shackle will not change that separation. It will change the pinion angle and you may need to correct that:

As noted on the page I posted a link to earlier, if your springs are sagging due to the weight on them and you are lifting with a shackle, you are not doing anything to help the spring carry the weight and they will continue to sag. If the springs are able to carry the load fine and you are just wanting some lift, then the shackles (and springs) will do fine.

thank you for very much the info, i apparently missed the link you sent but either way im just trying to level it out as the rear sags without any weight over it. Thanks again
