Cool! I'll see if I can find that Fluid Film around here. I doubt it since no salt on the roads, but it's definately worth a look.
Thanks for the info!
I appreciate it.
Have fun, man!

Took a nice little 100 mile round trip out to Goshen CT for some Ice fishing.

I caught the biggest fish of my life! That's me on the phone with my mom telling her about it.

Later the military arrived due to a possible terrorist vehicle in the lot.

I thought I would stop to recreate this photo from driving my 66 Beetle for a year as a daily driver.

Back to Fluid Film, I just injected another complete can of it into the frame of the 4runner. I still had this tube from Eastwood Rust Encapsulator internal frame sprayer and kinda Jerry rigged it to the Fluid Film can. I got the tube into every opening of the frame. A little messy but worked. I plan on injecting a second can at some point and doing this same thing for the FJ Cruiser.

That's a good idea. I've used a couple of cans of the Eastwood on my '89 years ago but last time I wnet to order it they cancelled it as out of stock. I've never gone back and gotten more. Need to do it.

Thanks

Yours is one of my favorites on this forum. Lots of pictures and not just trucks. I like to see the thing being used. I never thought I would want to spend any time out east but you have converted me. I also never had any desire for a 4runner but yours has me feeling a bit of truck envy. Thanks for taking the time to post.

I've gone through E bay for the rust encapsulator once for that same reason. They didn't have it at Eastwood but Eastwood on e bay had it. Weird. I knew I was gunna need that spay nozzle again one day!

Im big fan of Toyota pic up trucks too. I had two already. One was a 2 wheel drive 90 and the other was a 2002 Tacoma, it didn't compare to the 90 and the 4runner. Probably because it was made in California. Too many issues from day one. I like station wagons too, my original hope was an FJ 40 but with the current values I could not enjoy driving it through the "dazed and confused " streets of my local area 😂 every time we are on the road now I'm dodging head on collisions. All the trail gear protection makes us feel "safe" but who knows.

I love posting the adventures here, one day I'll just log on here to look back at it all. I even get my freinds more interested in this area of the U.S. who live out here to get out and explore more with these photos.

Some fun stops while running errands today. Plus some hiking with the dog, oil company to pay the bill, Scantic River Trail then got gas.

Then we stopped at the Kings Island boat launch and tried that trail. I've never hiked that trail before but have fished there. Then Walgreens and the bank.

It feels like spring out there! And I didn't see them Duke boys anywhere 😂

Test fitting the canvas cap that I picked up recently.

It's going to need some modifications but I think it will work out. Orriganlly I thought it wasn't tall enough but think it was upside down too long and spread out a bit.

I also tried a new idea to lift the cap off.

Your ad here

lol, I'll advertise for any company that sends decals provided I like and use the product. Plus it adds horsepower. Right? I asked Fluid Film for some recently and told them how much I've been using the product.

Yep. I understand the 22RE Performance sticker adds at least 10HP. Well worth it!

I'll bet 10 HP! One thing about 22RE and I'm sure a lot of people her know is great customer service and product there! That engine gasket set had seals I didn't even know about.

Working on making that Bestop soft top truck cap into a soft top for the 4runner. I turned the front most bar into a piece to secure the front to the cab and made brackets to secure the rails to the sides. I hear it's going to get warm this week so the hard top is officially off for the season!

I still need to work on something for the missing back window yet but I've got a good idea for it.

Just a little bit more adjusting the front bar and add snaps to it and the fitting will be set. It's one of them deals where I had to try it out before I got a complete plan.

Just a friendly reminder.

this was the after photo of cleaning up the valve cover, it didn't come out much better than before. It was a mess like the rest with the mud but thought I would clean it up a bit. I decided to check the valve lash so cleaned it up when off.

still working on building that back window. I just can't believe how real it came out.😁 I found it on EBay cheap it said for unknown truck. I figured it could only be bigger or maybe I could get lucky and it's the same size. Nope it's bigger it'll work though.

With a few zip ties holding it on the top because both canvas top companys attached the windows differently, some Velcro attached to the sides and a bungee cord across securing it to the frame through the loop that's at the bottom the window it's all set.

I should have thought of this in the past but the spot where the wiring goes through on the cap turns out to be a great place to keep the bolts for storage.
