Just picked this guy up last night. 1985 2wd short box with the 4 speed. Gonna daily this one while I finish the 88 4x4 I've been poking butt with for a few years. Drove it 3 and a half hours home without any issues.

Awesome! I don’t see any of those carpet dash pads in Canada, and a lot of the first gen toyota dashes are cracked.

The dash is pretty cracked on the passenger side but nothing velcro and a new mat won't fix. It had 124,862 when I bought it and now has 125,1something. The PO put a new Aisan carb and a new radiator as well as plugs and wire and cap and rotor. So this thing is pretty much good to go for daily.

Soon I'll be swapping out the bench seat for buckets. If y'all have any model suggestions for good buckets in other cars so I can have a list when I go to the junk yard that'd be great. I'm also planning on putting some kind of bedliner on the floor and then maybe good carpet. I just took the seat out and some trim off the floor and gave it a good cleaning and vacuuming. It's in good shape for a little over 1500.

Those Triple X floor mats came with it haha I'm honestly really curious about those. Because that specific design is from the movie XXX. Are these official XXX floor mats? Maybe a weird prize from someone seeing the premier of the movie and winning a giveaway? Did someone really like the movie and buy mats? Is this Xander Cage's 'Yota?

Eventually the plan for this one is to finish the 88 4x4 and daily that. And then pull this drivetrain out and build it up to a hot little 22r and put it into a first gen 2wd short box for a cruiser. THEEEEN pull a 1UZ (non vvti) and put that into this here tan body and build it up to a nice sleeper truck. But like I said..."that's the plan".

@old87yota Thanks for the warm welcome!!

@NYHumpinUtah The truck was purchased all stock about 4 years ago with only 82k miles, which I thought I was buying practically a new truck.
Unfortunately, I was wrong.. Long story short, I needed a whole brake system overhaul and then soon after, developed knocking in the engine. I ended up deciding to just drop in an entirely new one in so I did so with Jim Putney! (He's awesome BTW, which I'm sure everyone knows) so noooow..I have my new truck haha.
I really don't know why all that happened when supposedly the truck was in "great" shape, looking back I probably got duped or it was a bad apple :/
Now all I'm facing is ticking when I'm in 5th, hopefully I won't be needing to replace my transmission anytime soon

@jakey poo I don't plan on selling my truck ever haha but (I'm sad to even say this) the corolla maybe up for sale in the future.
Just past 100k miles, all stock except for header and exhaust! With head gasket replaced and machined cylinder heads not too long ago. I really wonder how much it could go for..

Snow was the easy part, it was the slush ruts that where a handful.
