So I bought this 3-1/2 years ago, been my daily driver and work truck everyday. Yesterday I discovered the badge on my doors is cooler than I’d thought. 170k 40 on a new motor, a little rough on the inside and getting a new topper soon, wish I had the original!
I am hoping to get more info on these trucks, if you have any please share!
This truck has been my trusty steed for 30+ years now. We been through thick and thin. Both of us getting old and beat up but we are still going.
Some great looking rigs on this thread. All these trucks are great looking! No time yet to look at them all, but will.
She turned 500,000 last summer. Not the original motor. I love my truck!
First post with my new to me 85 pickup, just a DD for me right now. Not a serious off-road rig like many here but still fun!
Warning big photos!
Comparison of when I purchased the truck and after a good wash, detail, new bumper, lights, and painting grille. New seat covers with heaters. This might be the most important mod for the winter beater! lol Added the tach and the heated seat switch panel
Wow @CNC85 that looks great! Your "before and after" looks backwards - Left looks like the day it left the factory... right looks like 34 years later. Nice job turning back the clock.
I just got my 2nd solid axle Toyota, an 85 4Runner with 224,779 miles and a bad engine that needs a full rebuild.
Price? Free, just had to get it off the guys property by the 1st which I had no problem with thanks to AAA.
It needs a lot and I can and will do all of the work except the cylinder boring.
Neglect is a horrible thing and this poor Runner was neglected for the past 10 years, no more.
85 xtra cab DLX 4x4. Lifted 6 inches sitting on 33s currently. As far as rust goes its pretty much completely clean, and the engine runs flawlessly. Im just trying to figure out an issue it is having with the transmission or possibly the clutch.
