i bought my 4runner about 2 months ago and me and my dad just got around to messing with it. it came with power windows and locks but the passanger window wouldnt go down with driver side switch or passanger...we tried to buy a new switch from the local dealer ship but they told me that my truck didnt come stock with powerwindows. where could i find a new switch?

I have an '85 4runner with power windows, but not power locks.

 

this may sound really stupid but check and make sure you don't have the window lock button pressed. that happened to me and I realized it after many many cuss words. just a suggestion.

 

I second that, but if that's not the case, I second what the other poster said about trying to fix the switch. Its probably just a contact point.

 

The SR5 models came with power windows but not powerdoor locks. So worst comes to worse tell the dealer you want one of those or go junkyard diving.

 

my 85 came with one piece power windows but no power locks. first thing i did was find a pair of doors with manual windows and wing windows and swap them out. no more problems and you can buy replacement manual regulators for $20 off ebay.

 

85 power windows did not have a window lock feature.

those ebay ragulators are junk, and do not have the return spring on them like factory ones do. They last about a year before you have to replace them. Sure they are "cheap" but how cheap are they after 4-5 of them?
