I don't know what ya mean by w/o boring, I'd say the ones that are in there are as big as they need to be.

My buddy has his bored .040 over. The rumor I've heard is the reasonable limit is .050.

You can get a stroker crank, make it a 2.7L/2700cc.

i thought a balance and blueprint meant you stuff the largest sized pistons and smallest rings possible into a stock cyl wall without boring, and have the crank balanced? correct me if im wrong.

That's basically the way I've always heard and used it. You are bringing the clearances and tolerances into factory spec. For example the factory says connecting rod clearance is 0.025mm to 0.055mm and so you size your rod bearings to match that. The actual diameter you machine the rod and crank aren't as important as the measurement of the clearance that your Plastigage says. The difference is that when the machine shop blueprints your engine, they have the crank, rods and bearings and do the work to match them all together rather than you telling them to turn the crank and rods to some fixed diameter that matches the bearings you bought.
