Heater wont work

I have another problem with my "new" 85 4runner. The heater does not work. When I turn it on the first setting for the fan nothing happens (blown resistor most likely). The rest of the settings make a loud buzzing sound. I located this little source of noise coming from the blower fan relay. I ordered a new relay and installed it today, but it still makes the same noise as the first one. I also took out my blower fan, took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together, jumped it with a battery and it works just fine. So I re-installed it. I have no idea what is wrong, all of the other electrical components work fine except for the 12v power outlet (another problem I need to solve). All fuses have been checked and are good. It is pretty cold on my part of the planet so fixing this would be so awesome.

From the sounds of it, it is the fan speed switch, voltage source to the relay, or ground path from the relay. You should also check the blower resistor since it is usually easy to get to, although I'm not familiar with your vintage of truck.

I have located the problem through the process of elimination, but Im not stupid enough to start rippin wires. Will definitely be seeking the services of a professional as this matter simply is not within my capacity of a DIY repair situation.

Check your thermostat. I had a truck with the same problem, no heat and my temp guage didn't work. Checked the thermostat, the rubber where the thermostat opens and seals had completely deteriorated.
