just remembered. cannot be the carb! they didnt rebuild MY original carb. the carb thats on there is one they rebuild and had sitting on their shelf. so it was more of a carb swap than a carb rebuild. so they couldnt have missed anything becuase its a totally different carb. unless the yota that my new carb originally belonged to had the exact same problem and they missed fixing it when they rebuild this carb. very unlikely. and my head hurts.

hey, dont know if anyone overlooked this, but if it dosent seem to be the carb... the timing dosent seem to be the problem... make sure that your getting enough fuel aswell, and that its flowing correctly... a poorly working FP or filter will cause just as much headache as anything else will... (i belive if your plugs are white your running lean)

just my $0.02

it cant be fuel. if it was fuel it would have been fixed by the new carb. if it was fuel it would be caused by the bowls not having enough gas in them. the fuel pump is new and the fuel filter is new. if there was a clog in the fuel lines and no fuel was getting to the carb, it would hesistate more often and i would occasionally run out of gas. so it cant be no fuel. at least i dont think so.

You have a mechanical fuel pump. Its on the front on the motor to the left bolted to the head.
Have you make any progress? I would like to know since I'm having the exact same problem!

yea total distortion, it sucks man. like xxxrider said we advanced the timing and tuned up the idle a little bit. if you want the specs the timing is at 12 btdc and i idle at about 1400rpm. seems to shadow it enough that i dont stall at intersections anymore. but its still there and its still lame and its still pissing me off but ive ran out of options. ive replaced like everything. hit me up if you have any ideas or progress

So I got it! It was some vacuum lines hooked up wrong! Check out the link or the attached pic.

Well my vac-hose change out helped but I also was still not happy. Still ran a little ruff crusing at 2400 rpm. So I called around and found a fuel pump for 34 bucks. Bought it/installed it....I have never heard the motor run so smooth.
Ran it to work and it was as smooth as my Camry V6 3.0 DOHC 1mz.

The pump on our rigs has a handle like a old water pump you see in western movies. After a while that arm wears or bends, so the pump can't pump what it should. I don't know if you got 40 bucks to throw at your rig or if it would even help. But I'm done chasing ruff idle/crusing problems.

There real simple to change.

Brian - I know this was a long long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, but i'm very curious to know if you or others resolved this issue and how. I do not share your vehicle type, but I do share the same problem and I cannot fix it for the life of me. I have eliminated all vac lines I don't need and pressure vac tested for leaks and I get nothing. HELP ! This is over 3 years now.

I know this is a while ago but did he check the egr cause I been reading and a couple times there I seen someone say check the egr if its clogged I dont think he did. So let me get this straight if the egr is clogged it will make my truck have a slow pick up?
