63s or stock

My friend recentily picked up a 83 single cab 22r sfa. He wants to put 63s on the front and back, dont get me wrong. im sure the 63s all around have much more flex, but for the work involved to do the swap. would new stock ones work just about as well, also i spent about an hour searchin for a thread thats has a 63 swap for the front that already has leafs and not the ifs swap. thanx in advance

63" springs in the front are WAY too long in my opinion. They work great in the rear however.

I am running 59" Allpro springs, and they are plenty long and plenty flexy. The reason most people use the 63" waggy springs is because they are cheap, and can be found easily in wrecking yards.

x2 chevys are great for the rear as a cheap spring but for the front they are kinda long. i'm runnin the waggy 4044 or whatever the number is in the front and they flex good. chevy rear and waggy front is the ultimate budget setup imo

This seems to probably be the most common. Move the stock rear springs up front, and put chevy's in the rear.

Stock front springs are about 47" long.
No body does 63 chevy's upfront. You would need to move the front hanger forward about 7-8" and move the shackles back a similar distances.

you gotta admit, chevys in the front would be original, and would probably give a TON of lift lol

^3's in the rear and could do chevy 54's in front. Other wise take the stock rear packs and combine a few leafs from the front in to em and run those for your front and they'll do great. Lot of ppl like ranger rear springs up front as well.
