Twin Cone 8-12-06

Well we ran Twin Cone this past weekend, it turned out to just be a friend of ours (jeep) and Chris, although his rig isnt ready yet, he rode with me, I reallt didnt remember "the hill" to be as bad as it was, lol, well anyway here are a few pics.

And I got a little body damage, lol

its really not that bad, it sure was fun, I was really bouncing on the rock that did the damage, time for some new "hard core" sliders, no more "light duty" for me

dang Ric! ya see, thats why i don't wanna wheel the crap out my 3rd gen. I'd rather beat up on something a 'lil older. lol

did it rip part of your fender flare off? It looks like kick outs would of stopped that from happening, yeah?

lol,, "I bought it, to wheel it" you dont have to take the lines I take, remember that jeep has NO sliders, came out good, just took the easy line..
I was bouncing pretty hard, trying to get up that darn hill, I think it`ll buff out

only if ya wheel it, lol but yes it will happen, i try my best to go wheeling every weekend, rain, sun, or snow, i gotta wheel, lol Ive been very lucky, Ive wheeled almost every weekend, (in the last 1.5 years) and this is the first real damage, and its not bad, once I sand it down and touch up the paint, no one will ever notice, Im so ready to get back, Im already counting the days, (4 more days) Ill be wheeling again, lol

THat long rock sticking up on the driver side? No amount of different slider would protect you from that little thing, it was gonna happen. But, that being said, i hope you opt for some kick outs....mine have been a blessing, saved me from a couple of dings.

yea Im talking to Jed, (have been for months) about putting some of his competion rock sliders under there, they will be about 4" longer, to protect what is now damaged, lol and yeppers, kick outs will be there, you know me Issac, I gotta try the hard line this time I lost but GOD it was a blast, and yes Ill do it again

You would have whacked that with or without kickouts, looks like it slid under and gouged out. Tell you what, don't buff it out, get a small white paint marker and write "Twin Cone 8/06" on top of it, so its immortalized forever.

As soon as the jambo is over, i'm hauling you up and we're going to see how we fair on something harder. Just waiting on some spare parts from a guy who's sasing, then i'll feel safe if i pretzel the steering (again).

Dang Ric - trail carnage!
Yeah, you should get some of Jed's kickout sliders.
They might not have prevented this ding, but at least your kids can use them as steps

Chris and I "might" make them ourself, just get the products from Jed.. I might copy your design, "if" I remember correct, Ill make/have them made about an 1" longer, and the kick out about an 1" wider than the tire.
where was you ? lol, that was awesome an great trail.. are ya coming up this sat. ?

did it rip part of your fender flare off?
it poped off the bolt, (for the 3rd time) the pic was taken after we took the flare off, right before we pounded it down a bit, but the door opened fine, I did my JB Weld treatment again, lol once i lightly sand it, and paint it, (and the slider) you wont even notice it it hardley noticable now. darn MALL CRAWLERS trying to wheel.

Nice bruise Ric. I have to ask what you are running for a lift and tires, are they 285/75's?
