Nice cruise on the beach at Pismo.

My wife and I were driving back from Shell Beach last week. I decided that since she got to make the morning plans, including soaking in the mineral baths at Avila Beach, then I'd plan a little detour and check out Pismo on our way home. We had a nice drive down the beach and took a venture inland into the open area. The sand was pretty wet. So, traction was probably a lot better than when it's dry. We were there early Friday afternoon and there weren't many people there yet for the weekend. We watched the kite boarders before we had to get back on the pavement and head home.

I took a couple pictures. I'll post them if I can figure it out.

Purdy. Looks like a rental Buick could make it around those dunes. Another nice side trip there is inland to Lopez Lake. Great scenery, hiking and cycling.

Thanks for the kind words. My wife deserves the credit for all the shots not featuring my truck. (There were a couple shots featuring her with my truck. But, I was told I couldn't publish those. ) We were using a Canon Powershot camera. The sky was extra blue that day.

I can't wait to finish all the work on my truck. When all's done it should actually outperform a rental Buick!

The Buick may have trouble on the backside of Pismo though.

I've had so many good times out there. Nice pics, BTW.

EDIT--forgot I still had the hillclimb video on my website.

Still running on 5 cylinders and having my wife along . . . I was avoiding situations like that backside photo. That's a great picture though . . . . and when I showed it to my wife her comment was, "How cool is that!! Can we do that?" She never ceases to amaze me.

I am about three miles from Pismo as I type this. I can cruise over there after work any time I want.

I never go there on weekends. Too many people... ;-)

Tough deal, eh?

Hey Kevin! It was a very spontaneous side trip on the way home from Shell Beach. I'll definitely let you and the YT crowd know if I plan any offroad adventures. If all goes well, my truck will be back to a 6 cylinder in a couple weeks and I'll feel a little more like making plans!
