I am about to smash this MP3 player into a million pieces!!!

I let a buddy of mine borrow my memorex MP3 player, and i guess it started messing up on him. so he tried to reinstall the firmware. now its dead. my computer is detecting it as "recovery device class" and when I try to update the firmware as stated in the installation guide, it says it found a device in recovery mode, please wait... then an error pops up that says 'unable to write firmware file data'. i tried calling memorex tech support, but theyre a bunch of assclown communist basssstids. sorry, first day without a cigarette and im in a bad mood. but anyways how the hell do i fix this so i can go walking with music??? im almost ripping my hair out!

yeah its fubar, i called em and they said since the firmware was loaded incorrectly, the unit was killed. however, for a fee of 30 dollars, they can fix it and send it back to me. i declined, because i bought it for 40 from target. last time i ever go with memorex stuff

Look for some forums about it. If they can fix it then I am sure that someone has posted the procedure.
