i have searched and come up with either an arb or an e-locker, but i have not heard of that locker. toyota said installing an factory locker would cost a small fortune. i've had the factory in my old tacoma and a detroit in an old toy and loved both. looking for something compairable but maybe not as expensive as an arb.

I believe the detroit is avail for the 00. The lock rite also? The "e-locker" I think would have been what you had in your taco if it was factory.

Something comparable doesn't exist, that's why you came up with arb or elocker. Those are the only 2 selectable lockers available for the toyota. You can retrofit the elocker into your truck, but you'll need to do a little welding, drilling and wiring.

I bought a donor rig for $10K with the e-locker and 4.30's, swapped everything out (front and rear), then sold the donor rig for $10,300.

You could always try that approach.

I bought a complete e-locker axle from a 1999 for $450 and swapped it all out. E-Locker Retro Fit Then sold my open axle for $375. So I got locked for $75.

Some 2000's (like mine) were partially prewired so it is pretty easy to do the electircal stuff.
