Headlight swap questions/HID lights

Ok so I've been looking into going with HID lights for a long time and finally haw the money to do so I just wanted to know from others what's best what to avoid what worked and how to do this in the cleanist looking and most asthetically pleasing manner.
I have a 96 runner, I wanted to know if to retrofit HID's I needed to do the headlight conversion. Also wanted to know what ballasts and lenses are the best. Also wanted to know where to get the angel eye lights. Any and all advice or expiriences would be good just want to do this once and have it be done with nothing but the best.

if you gonna do a retrofit i suggest you get some 99+ 4runner headlight. On the projector that is up to you do you want a low beam or high and low.

unless you plan on baking the build in reflectors, your HIDs would be extremely spotty.

That's exactly what I'm planning to do, I just wanted to know if there were projectors that were better than others and maybe ballast that were betters than others.

I've heard that digital ballast are better, and also getting 55w ballasts are the best. Anyone know more about this?

I'll have to do the projector retrofit then. Do you know if the 99 4runner headlights are direct fit, no modifying needed?
