how to find laws about half doors
I live upstate NY and the cops can be real pains locally. Does anyone know how I would find out what the laws are reguarding half doors or tube doors or even no doors? Also want to find out about going topless. Now guys I meant the truck not myself. For street legal, I wanna do some stuff to my yota but dont want no tickets. I had a dune buggy that was all street legal that had no doors you climbed in, but never had doors to start. Thanks for any help. BUG

one thing to check on is also whether you can run without outside Mirrors. I know here in OR you have to have at least one outside mirror, so, while running doorless is fine here, running without mirrors isn't. My buddys CJ has mirrors on the fenders, presumably for this reason.

Thanks alot. Ill have to call DMV cause no jeeps around here much. I never though about the mirrors though so that may be a consideration for laws. Thanks again ill post here what i find in case anyone else needs the info.

yea i think jeeps have there mirrors mounted on the fenders factory. shouldnt be a problem, just move your mirrors back to the fenders. thats what i plan on doin. why would it be illegal to go topless? looks liek that woudlnt be a problem, because of all the convertable cars and whatnot

as recommended check with NY state. I lived there for years, watertown and cheektowaga. things are kind of weird there.
edit: somebody at an inspection station might be able to point you in the right direction, I am not having any luck on google
but these might help http://www.dmv.org/ny-new-york/autom...hicle-code.php

as far as the mirrors, plenty of room the the door surface to mount a set.
try this link for some good ideas
