22r running too rich help please!
well i just got done swapping an 89 22r into my 1985 toyota 4x4. i used the 89 carb but swapped everything from the 85 carb onto it but clearly i must of done somthing wrong. when i start the truck it runs fine for a little bit without any smoke but after a couple of minutes of running the it starts to blow out black smoke and then it would just die if i give dont give it gas. when its running i check the fuel mixture level on the carb and its completely full of gass. i dont really know where to even adjust the fuel mixture so if you have any suggestion that would be great thanks.

Try putting the stock carb back on and see if that fixes the problem. The carbs may look the same on the outside but sometimes they make internal changes, like diferent jet sizes and other minor things, and something like that could be causing your problems.

Man, I know this doesn't help too much, but I dorked around with my stock, and other stock carbs for way too long until I finally just went for the Weber. Now that I have it, I'll never look back. So easy to tune, runs so nice, better mileage. I wish I had more help for you, sorry.

ok i guess i did come off as a jerk and i apologize cause i really didnt specify that my 85 carb needs a rebuild. unfortunately i didnt have money for a rebuild and i had a friend that wasnt using his 89 carb with low miles so i decided to use that one.
