Cheap/Easy mods?
Anyone got any cool little modifications they have done on their first gens? or things you've found? Anything is fine, as long as its either cheap or free(best) and easy to do.
- You can use a bicycle water bottle holder as a cup holder, it actually works really well and very cheap.

I have an electric fan that I got for cheap, but installing it wasn't easy.
I took out my stock speaker boxes, and cut them out a little bit, so now they accept a 5.25" speaker, rather than the 4" stock.

This is my cupholder and it works really well. I used a 2 part epoxy to glue it on and still hasnt budged yet. Only downside is when you have a coffee and do a little 4wheelin it splashes on your leg

maglite mount ftw- cost $3.95 @ local bi-mart
Has been tested with my old 2-cell (damn tweekers), new 3-cell (ditto), and my buddy's 4-cell. It holds them all well.

Some mugs come with a shut-off thumb switch. I've one of those in the Ridge.

I have seen those mag light holders used on license plates for holding them to roller fair leads instead of a flip plate. Supposed to work good. Doing it myself soon.

turnsignal/parking light combo
Got the idea for this one from another forum:
Put the turn signal in with the parking light.
Total Cost: $6.99 ($1.99 for the orange 1156 bulbs and $4.99 for the Plasti weld (expoxy w/15 min set time))
1) Remove the turnsignal and Headlight Bezel
2) cut out the turnsignal bulb socket, I used a 1" butterfly bit to drill just under the parking light (drill slowly-this plastic is old and brittle)
3) I ground down the sides to allow to fit in the edges of the bezel and left a lip to allow the plasti weld to bond to (clean all the old dirt and junk out) my lenses were due for a cleaning anyway
4) apply liberal amounts of plasti weld or epoxy:
5) installed just replace the parking light lense:
I like this one, cheap easy and it actually allows the signal to be seen from the side...
I could use some new bezels some time, but this will work for now...
