I am going to skip skiing this weekend. Freezing level is high today and I cannot justify the expensive of skiing on ice. Now, if it turns out nice and the snow is springy, I'll be very jealous of yah!
Curious, where are you buying your steel?

Im not to familiar with the swap as I havent been involved with onebut I do know the topic is out there and the swap is very common. Do a few searches on it and you should be able to find all the info youll need As for my build right now... I just widend the axle's on my trailer but ran out of wire to finish welding them up to the trailer. I hope I get paid this week so I can get some this weekend and finish it up. Ive been wanting to widen my trailer axles for some time and also move them forward on the frame. This will help make the trailer more stabe when towing.
Heres a few pics of the work so far ramps were strenthend and tabs were made to hold them in place while driving up them. The center bar is the centerline to the tires ![]() Ramps pins are welded to the ramps and box tube is used to locate the pins ![]() Oops forgot to turn the pic. Notice the box has room for the pins to slide. Also the ramps can be turned around to accomidate different size vehicles ![]() Axle cut in half. Its 1 3/4 solid square steel. ![]() 6" wider and stronger ![]() New mounts in the works. They need some extra gusseting before they are done but their getting there

That may be
its gonna have to be big though. So I worked and hung My trailers springs and was working on the axles to check the pads and such when I found that my trailers so called brakes turned out to be a load of crap Oh they did have pads but no actuators to move the pads. Not to mention the pads were all shot and basically fell apart. I had to order a whole new assembly and hopefully they will work with my drums and if not well then new drums will have to also be ordered. $$$ I dont want nor can really spend right now. This project has proven to be very difficult and very frustrating. I do love doing it all but today just wasn't my day. I guess there is always tomorrow. Sorry for the rant I just feel like at the momentIll get some pics up soon to show my progress of what I have done and hopefully by next week my truck will be able to be towed by my trailer safely thats if the new parts fit right

As for the axle swap there are a million threads about it. Search this site and youll find entire threads specific on every detail about it. Its easy at least to me now because ive done it and gained the knowledge to do it easier and faster. Everyone is different, but believe me if you want it, you can do it. Enjoy the site It was told to me that it was a 98 T100 but it could not have been after my research of using sensor part numbers to figure it out. I believe its a 96 auto T100 motor. I bought a 96 2wd wiring harness for a manual and Ecu to match. I used the "as base model i could go" because the less the wiring hassle involved.

Inspiration to get it running in the worst way
If I dont already hate the law enough. Ive been harrassed many a time by law enforcement. Regardless if its there job or whatever Im not to fond of the things that they look for in order to make money. (now I know this doesnt include all officers because yes there are good ones and it is there job and the laws arent made by them) I will also state that "yes I have and will continue to break laws" theres no stopping it. I dont mean bad ones like arson or murder so dont think im that kind of person by that statment but we all break at least one law a day and im convinced about that. ANYWAY if I didnt have enough motivation to get my vehicle running again My mother had a visit by the local law enforcment claiming that my truck and trailer must be removed from the property within two weeks or I get a cival violation and have to pay a $500 fine. Why you ask? Well for one I have some A$$hole neighbors who called the police about my truck and according to the law here I cannot park a non running vehicle in my OWN driveway. What??? It hurts absolutly no one. It doesnt look bad in anyway to warrent such a charge IMO and it also looks as if it can drive so how do they have the right to come and tell me this? I dont know how an officer can actualy charge me for this, nor be able to prove that it doesnt run without stepping onto my property. I will not give them the keys to my truck and I will not let them stay on my proporty I will ask them to leave if im home the next time this happens. Whats stopping me from calling in on them saying there vehicles dont run? How would they like it? This is my passion and love so how the hell do they have that right nor the nerve? So two weeks I guess or else according to them = FINE. I have found a loop hole with this that I do inted on doing and will think it will be funny when whoever called on me sees my rig still in the driveway. I do want it running more than anything and I will but to have an officer come to my house and herass my family (which the officer did) is un called for and the law "in this case" is a pile of you all know what. Thanks for listening to the rant BTW im just so sick of it and cant believe such a dumb a$$ charge Sorry about the really slow updates. Im having pic issues at the moment so I cant really post them. I will shortly. I have recieved my new trailer breaks but have to wait to have the drums turned and cleaned before I reasemble it all. Once I get that trailer done I should be able to figure out my engine problems shortly after and best case senerio have it running again which would be about time

I can see the non running vehicle issue but what does the trailer have to do with it?
Put the 4Runner on some rollies and roll it in the garage, fix the engine, roll it out again and put on the big meats. Pissing on the law is like pissing in the wind, only makes you look bad. Now pissing on your neighbors is a WHOLE nother story. ![]() Good luck.

I dont really care if it makes me look bad cause im sure im not the only one with a dislike in it. Not saying they dont do some good work like I said before there are alot of good ones out there and will continue to be.I will get it running and thanks for the good luck. I could use it. As for getting the motor running I lack the funds to afford the equipment to figure out why it doesnt want to run. I have worked on it for some time now and have had it running. I bought a trailer not only to tow it as my trail rig but also to tow it to the right shop that has the tools I can use and wont cost me much if any. You may wonder why I havent just called AAA but because of the situation that would turnout to be a hard way to go. I dont really want to discuss the entire reasons why it just wont work for me. The trailer BTW was brought up also by the police officer because I had the axles out to redue the brakes. Its only been like this a few days and wont be there hoping by the end of this week. The 4runner has been moved around quite a bit, in and out of the garage and really aside from not moving from its spot you cannot tell that it just sits there by looking at it. Keep in mind im out working on it almost everyday i dont know why my neighbors dont like it nor have to result in calling the cops on me for it. My guess is that they had a bad childhood It could just be they hate when i whip out the Not much I can really do like youve said. the law is 99% of the time gonna have it there way regardless if I like it or not. If it were a completly trashed car or truck I could see the disgust in it being there. It doesnt help I lived in a stuck up area but I have to be fortunit that I can actualy do this stuff like so many others. I was just pissed and I know what you mean by your comment but Im sure you can also understand why I might be a bit frustrated at the moment.

hey fill, most places will not allow u to have a vehicle that doesnt have a license plate on sitting in the drive way. i would check the laws again and see if this is true. i cant see that being a law because what happens if ur car breaks down u cant store it in ur driveway. sounds a bit far fetched to me, but i could be wrong. i can understand ur frustration. maybe ur neighbors are jealous that enjoy life more than them. some people just dont like to see other people having fun with their life. keep up the good work and good luck with the law!!!!!!!

LOL ya that could be true
I was thinking about stopping by the city hall to find out all about the laws. I tried looking it up online but only found the code dealing with sewage and stuff. I dont trust it but what can I do.I hope this jump starts my work on it some and maybe the whole ordeal will aid in the speed I need to get it done. It hasent help that I started my new day job. Im used to nights cause of my previous work. Ive been limited to working on it in the dark which I also think may have pissed off the neighbors Its nice that we just sprung forward time wise so now I have an extra hour of light and its gonna get longer towards summer Thanks and like ive said before ill get the updates up as soon as I can

Try that Fill. Went to your city website and ended up there. Don't know if thats all of the city codes. It seems every neighborhood has a jerk neighbor and always calls police or code enforcement out.
