I had the same problem and bent some bailing wire to latch it til I got a new latch

Does it just bolt right up? I haven't taken the old lock off yet but it looks like I just take off 2 screws correct?

![]() Maybe you could buy 2 of these and bolt them to the sides of your sliding windows and then put a padlock on em on the inside. Just make sure you can't undo the bolts from the outside. |

as long as its from a 79-83 they should all be the same

Those things always break and a new one won't keep someone from breaking in. It would be nice if there was something better to use...but yeah, it's annoying to have that thing keep creeping open. I had to buy one for my truck also. Used is the way to go. I think they're around $50 from the dealership. Somebody needs to make an all metal one...
