cleaning the frame after removing the old bed. the bed's are only held on by 6 body bolts, fuel filler neck and tail light wiring. super easy to remove, not very heavy 2 people can easily remove, just an awkward size.

unbolt upper control arms, shocks, idler arm, pitman arm and torsion bars (the passenger side we cut the torsion bar because of the hard brake line routing and transfer case making it difficult to remove)

In the kit I purchased it came with these 5"x2" plates to fill in the hole on the motor mount where you have to cut off the old shock and upper control arm mount points

we mildly rebuild this 1985 solid front axle, only items that are original are the case, axle shafts, differential, lower bearing caps, spindles and hubs.

after everything is removed you have to tack on the front spring hanger, in the directions it says you can mount it either flush with the frame or 3/4" forward. I purchased the 4" lift springs with 1" lift shakles (total 5" lift) so i put it 3/4" forward so that we could get a proper shackle angle

The kit I purchased came with high steer cross over steering, it came with new steering arms, drag link, tie rod, and pitman arm, also a steering stabilizer (that i currently still have to mount)

checking the shakle angle the vehicle needs to have full weight on the springs, the angle was just barly back of vertical, but once the new springs break in it should be closer to 20% (front what the kit instructions say)
