1985 4 runner with 22RE - Mystery plug

I found a plug on the engine harness that I can't identify. The plug is just below the intake runners and above the starter. Can anybody help indentify what this plug is for and where it goes ?

I am having cold start issues - the initial start each day is a long crank to get running. The engine starts fine the rest of the day.

Here is the mystery plug:

I believe that plug has something to do with automatic transmissions.

I have the same, unused green plug on my '85:

As noted, I think it is part of the A/T wiring, probably for the coolant temperature sender. On an M/T truck, it is not used.

I guess it was too early in the morning for me. I meant to finish my statement with, " it is unused if you have a manual transmission."

95% of the time the cold start injector time switch is what causes this problem. It can be ohmed out but I have the specs on hand at this time; maybe someone else will chime in.

No way, cause you are dead one! Its a 2 pin connector, and on the 85, should be brown in color, mount on the front of the intake. But it could be green in color, but it will be 2 pins!

i dont have much to offer on the plug, but you have a very clean engine bay, looks good.

I keep it clean on purpose ! I don't like to get dirty everytime I raise the hood ! It also helps to pinpoint problems before they become bigger !

It was pretty dirty when I purchased the 85, 6 months of tinkering and tweaking and it is coming together. I'm daily driving the 85 and I travel
during the week. I logged 1000 miles this week.

This thing is a TROOPER ! I can run 70 - 75 miles an hour and I'm getting about 19mpg. It don't shake, rattle or complain - I LIKE it !
