22re question for the gurus

i bought a 22re out of a 95 4x4 it has 140000 miles and the guy said he had it replaced for low oil pressure. this guy is very wealthy. when i pulled the oil pan off the strainer had some oil sludge on it. im thinking of replacing the timing assy and oil pump. last night i loosened the head bolts on accident. well i was triing to get the rocker arm assy off. so i could pressure wash it. now that i loosened the bolts should i replace the head gasket? i didnt break the seal on the head. also is there a market for a rebuildable 22re complete w/intake and exhaust manifolds? not sure if people buy these

I have had good luck with oil pump replacement fixing this problem as long as there is not a "knock"
